4 tyres on their own was about $250. If they are happy to fit the tyres to the wheels first then you'd just pay for additional weight rather than size.
You don't need pressure sensors - the car has that via the ABS. Best thing is to just figure out what you want, then email them along with your address. Let them know that speed is not a priority, as long as it's insurable and trackable.

And yes, Goodyear F1 Asymmetric is the best option.

ah ok then...but if i buy the tyres and rims off them..it will be the smae weight even if i do send them seperatley.
But then if i do send them seperatley i avoid taxes.
      far out this is complicated.
I think the tyres will be a definate from tirerack
just tossing up on the rims now.
      ENKEI OR VMR.
AHH DAMN I CAN"T DECIDE ON THE RIM OR THE COLOUR!
I reckon i'll end up going the cheaper option cos i like them both.and theyre both good quality anyways...lol

Well if you buy everything from tirerack, just do it in one go. You wont save by splitting in two I dont think (too many items). However if you decide to go with wheels at one place and tyres at another, you might be fine to split and save on duty. Just get it all together as 2 or 3 different options, put the prices down and choose. My choice, F1's on VMR 710's. That's what I will most likely go with. Just remember that by fitting 19" wheels the car will need a drop.

          Ah yeh..sounds good.
Na i have to go 18's unfortunaley.
I can't get the car into the basement if i do drop it and it's just easier to go 18's for me.
          So no biggie.
          will still look good.

I think the enkeis have the win for me so far......just really depending on vmr pricing now. But i'm pretty sure it's the enkei's.
I just can't decide on black or silver.....it's starting to annoy me now...lol

Well as I found out earlier, on MKV.com VMR were offering the 710's for $799 USD but that wasn't a group buy as far as I can tell.

Hopefully this arrangement/group buy will come in at less than that. The dollar is back down to about 88c last I checked so hopefully it holds.

All in its going to be about the $2000-2200 AUD mark I imagine which is nothing. Especially if I can move the standard 18" Detroit's for the $1200 they will owe me.

Actually for just $1200 difference i'd be inclined to keep the OEM wheels to put back on when it comes time to sell.

Brand new wheels and tyres will sound good to the buyer I think.

well thats very good for the vrm rims...the enkeis cost 740 US
so if the vrm are anywhere near that i would probably go for them...cos they're nicer...and they come in the charcoal grey

OK so let me just lay this out.
                LOL
Tires will be Goodyear eagle f1 assymetric. - $720 USD
Rims will be the VRM v107 - around the $800 USD mark
and then whatever postage and taxes i incurr...sounds like a plan.

If shipping doesnt cost more than 400 dollars aussie....the whole price for the rims will be less than 2g and maybe i can get 6-700 for my current rims...far out...that would be soo goooddd.

VMR are hot, but the Enkei's are different.

                    • I definitely would not be selling the stock 17" wheels. When you go to sell the car the number of people that will want the VMR's will be very few. And you wont get anything for them. I've seen people sell OEM wheels all the time and get absolutely jack **** back for them. The only reason I suggested the possibility of selling the 18" wheels is because they're not standard and there might be a premium associated with them. However as I said earlier, it will be much more attractive to have the original wheels down the line. I think you would be very lucky to get much more than $100 a corner for the stock 17" wheels.

IT will need a drop with 18s also.

Keep em. It will be easier to sell the car with them on it and sell your aftermarket rims separately IMO.

also if you are going 19's then it might be nice to have a set of 17's lying around with Cheaper to replace tyres on them and better ride quality if you decide to do any big road trips/track days etc.

Maybe worth $1000 if u are lucky as there will be a large influx of them soon with all the new GTI's hitting the road and the fact the Stock wheels dont suit it the best.

I would keep them but i need to sell them in order to be able to afford my rims.
Do you think the ride will be that much worse on 18"? It's oinly one inch bigger....cnt make tht much of a difference.
And i'm getting better tires...so might even be better...lol

Well really it needs a drop on the stock 17" wheels ..

However I am referring to aftermarket wheels due to the lower profile tyres. The stock 18's dont necessarily need a drop even though they would look better with one.

The aftermarket 19" will most likely look silly without a drop. It probably wont even look stock.
