    BBS CM or Oz Superturismo.

All the others look like cheapies that you get from bob jane.
The mmichelangelo's look like A8 reps.

I'm sure someone around here will take those off your hands when you're done with them

        Actually, you'd be surprised!
        From tirerack....

        Continental Sport Contact 2 - 225/40ZR18 92Y = US$202 each
        Continental Sport Contact 3 - 225/40ZR18 92Y = US$204 each
        Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric - 225/40ZR18 92Y = US$180 each

I'd recommend you read a few of the reviews (even the tyre round up at tyrerack) because The F1 Asymmetric would be my choice based on them and the Motor mag round ups that I've seen. And it just so happens that they're on sale at Tirerack atm so they're cheaper than the CSC2/3s!

Curious as to why you are going with Conti tyres instead of other tyres with a better reputation?
I used the Conti's on my TT and they were great. I didn't know they had a poor reputation?

Any suggestions? If I plan to Stage II the GTI later on, I am going to need all the grip I can get.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetrcs are the way to go for quality tyres.

Conti's are known for their poor treadwear = less traction = need to buy new tyres more often.

                    According to this thread.. http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showth...light=VMR+V710

                    They're about $800 USD a set for 18".

Also.. some more info from VMR.

The wheels will be shipped from either Brisbane or Sydney. I will announce pricing soon. You will only need to pay for domestic shipping within the country.

                    Best Regards...Ty

Sounds great. I will keep an eye on the forums.

Do you have any details of this group buy yet?
                    ALL GREAT NEWS.

                    I've now asked this.

                    That’s great news.

I noticed on MKV.com forums that you were doing an 18” set for $799 USD.

If they are going to be local, will they still be based off the USD? (hence my enquiry)

For example – I can buy a BBS wheel from tirerack for $300 USD per vs about $800 per AUD locally.

                    Cheers,
                    Jay

I love my rims but looking at the posts in this thread, I kinda feel a little ripped off money wise even though it's not a lot of money Serves me right for rushing off and doing it in the first week of ownership.

Wheels cost $900 total and tyres where $1200.

Probably cause he could have bought actual BBS CH's for not too much more.

                          Don't sweat it though mate.

I got pretty much the same reply elisiX
That sounds like a good plan to me.
Only thing for me is tyres will end up costing me more.
I can get a set of Enkei EKM3's 18" with Continental Extreme contact DWS in a size of 225/40 R18 all set up and balanced for 1500 give or take a couple of hundred.
I wonder what i can get with these guys from VMR cos i like their rims quite a lot.

I dont think they can ship the wheels with tyres fitted. But I am sure they can come separately. If not, you can still order from Tyrerack.

I wouldn't skint on tyres to be honest. They're the most important part of your vehicle IMO.

Wait sorry, i got that wrong...i am getting Goodyear F1 assymetric tyres. I hear they are very very good tyres.
For these tyres, with pressure sensors and the enkei rims..it says it will be around 1700 not including postage.
Do you have anyy idea at all as to what postage may cost?
