Hi all

Just brought our daily car (aka my wife's car) last weekend. it's a great car with a zippy engine and nice handling. I too found the throttle pedal a little 'all or nothing' but I'm sure it's probably the gearbox not knowing what i'm after and me not being used to the throttle sensitivity.

Specs are:
118 TSI DSG
- sport pack
- front windows to be tinted
- Bluetooth
- rear sensors
- metallic paint (red)
- floor mats

paid 36,150 at Barloworld. (hope it's an ok price...)

We ordered a 2010 build so wont be getting our hands on it till Apr / May.

Have been looking at purchasing a new GTI as follows:

5 door
Manual
Red
cloth seats
Tinted Windows

All up stock standard.

Have been quoted $40,800 drive off the lot including all charges (rego, dealer delivery, GST etc) for registration in VIC.

I am looking to take delivery in May so no huge rush. What do others think , is this a good price or have people heard of better? I have used Corporate discount for this price.

Pretty much the same as mine, mine was $200 more although I also have 18" Detroits.
But still, a great deal that you've managed to reach... Not many dealers go that low. I know when I was shopping around, I struggled to get a price below $41.5k.

Can I just ask, when you say 'compliance plated', that is not the build date is it? It would have to be an 09 build to be getting it early Feb wouldn't it?

It wont be a 2010 build if its arriving in Feb.

The factory do not begin production until week 6 2010 (mid feb).

Compliance plate is the plate which gets put on the car after it goes through its checks and (sometimes modifications) after arriving in Australia. It'd still be a 2009 build though
