I've merged your question in with the GTI Specifications thread. The answer is, from the beginning. It's been a standard GTI feature since the release of the MK6.

I have finally taken a minute to look at Corey's GTI price calculator... awesome work Corey.

I can't figure out how the hell i managed to get away for $47,500 (5dr DSG with metallic paint, bluetooth, detroits, RNS510). They took $500 off the RNS510 and $500 off the car, and i got in for the EOFYS sale so VW paid the on-roads... even so. My deal was decent

Well after much thought i'm ordering my R on Saturday. This is the first new car i've brought so alittle unsure of just what to expect when negotiating. They have given me a quote of 64k for the following car (including fleet discount)

5dr manual
acc
leather
sat nav
19" wheels
sunroof
dynaudio

Am I expecting to much to get this for around 61k?

Percentage Saved 5.40%

Since most can get up to 10% without corp discount that figure sounds a bit poor.. I would shop it around

Hi Thanks so when was the MK6 released was it in 2009 or was it in 2010??? so when doing a car search can you include 2009 and onwards i am thinking that the MK6 was the first GTI with the split exhausts sorry for the silly questions Thanks gazza

If ur not dead set on new, then tippah is selling his gti, almost the same specs for around $42k. Wander over to the vwgolf.net forums

You can get a brand new R with DSG leather and sunroof for only 3-4 more thousand..That's with the 19's aswell..

Impractical Black

Getting quoted down from $62 ish to $58 sish. Seems a bit steep and thinking I should do better but getting the spiel that stock is low and the are selling fast really. Dream car for me and some spendy options but don't want to spend more than I have to. Not that rich . All wisdom welcome.
