Sydney Aida update - seems due to pub hols, Patricks only took the cars on the 31st so will be about a week behind the Melb Aida. Dealers should receive them by the 14th and hopefully delivered by 21st

Tristan in Melbourne

Well the Tristan was back in range for a short while last night after 10 days or more - passed through between the North and South Islands of New Zealand about 6 hours ago.

So it's still floating and on track to arrive in Melb on the 6/1 and Sydney on the 8/1! Exciting!

She's arrived in Melbourne - bring on Port Kembla. Least a cyclone didn't sink her!

Gratz mate! Still no word for me yet. My R is still in bond with Patrick Autocare and awaiting delivery to the dealership. I also have to fill out some more paperwork with the lease company as well before then so hopefully its soon.

Spoke to the dealer today and my R is sitting at the docks in Brisbane still even thou it disembarked on the 21st of December. Apparently the trucks cant get through still because of the floods, looks like another couple weeks wait as the bruce looks like being cut for at least another week or two at rocky

All I can say man, is it's probably lucky that it's at the docks still and not in some holding yard which is now under water!

Yeah I hear ya Corey, Wasn't on the aida, I think I was the only person on the Topeka, which docked on the 21st in Brissy. I also found out that Patrick's, as in the shipping company, do all the compliancing stuff to bring the car upto Australian spec, child restraint points etc, prior to it coming up here to North Queensland.

Apparently my dealer just cleans the car on arrival and fills her with petrol.

Yeah... it's a bit more than cleaning the car and filling her up with Petrol, but yes, Patricks do the compliance... though it's a better to describe it as "bringing it down to Australian spec". Australia needs to ensure it's quota of dead children each year by using 1970's spec gear...

So... I have an interesting week. Last weekend I went down to Port Kembla to see the Don Quijote unload and couldnt get close enough to see my car come off! (if anyone has had luck with this - I you)

Then received a call from the dealer today and told me that Patricks doesnt reopen until the 10th, and that the dealership wont receive the car until the 19th!

The agony!

I can confirm that that is not true.... My friend just got his call ... He was on aida which arrived at port kembla on xmas day and it is due to arrive at the dealer on monday and can be picked up wednesday.... Patricks been working on it all this time i.e. Havent been closed

I was also on the Don Quijote which, according to marrinetraffic.com has left Brisbane and now heading North.

Hopefully my R is now on "dry" land in Brissie.

Hopefully Pickles and VW Springwood will sort it out quickly, but by the sounds of it, there my be a backlog.
