TSI squeal noise problem on acceleration

I don't know why people are so worried about this squeal. I haven't heard of or read of any supercharger Clutch/water pump assemblies failing. Yeah my car makes the noise sometimes, but when you have the Dynaudio stero turned up I don't even hear it. I'm not worried about it.
When you take the car back to the dealer they will just tell you it's normal for the 118tsi. If it was a major problem VW would have done a recall on these models. Just enjoy the car and drive it.MY20 Golf GTI TCR

Just rang Ian Boethcher VW and they claimed they had never heard of this squeak issue, but agreed to have a look at it come Wednesday. Guy on the phone tried selling the idea of it being a turbo blow off though for a good 30 mins.Golf MK VI Silverleaf 118TSI

Well mine has recently gone away.. And I miss it!!
Had it from around the 5,000km mark- am now at 27,000 and I'm not really sure when it went away. I've been listening for it this past week or so and no squeal
I seriously liked it. Proven to not bs detrimental to performance or parts longevity and so just thought it was a funny characteristic of the mechanics. Oh well, maybe it will come back.Current - MY16 2015 Octavia VRS Wagon 220 tsi DSG Corrida Red, tech, Leather, 18" black

I'm not sure that it has Alok. The noise isn't the pump per se, but the supercharger clutch engaging and disengaging. It's a normal sound that you'd expect it to make. The problem is that it's audiable inside the car, and some customers don't expect to be able to hear it...
So VW keep changing the design slightly to see whether it stops or not - apparently they haven't yet got there...
Being that we keep hearing rumours that they're just going to get rid of the supercharger on the next model, maybe they'll never get there. Seems "regular customers" are not happen with "performance noises".
