TSI squeal noise problem on acceleration

I have a 2009 VW Golf and had nothing but trouble from it! While it is a gorgeous car to drive it has spent more time in the mechanic then in my garage!
The car is on its
2nd engine
3rd clutch
2nd gear box
5th water pump
The noise that my water pump makes it unacceptable to me, in the beginning I didn't find it to intrusive but since they replaced it it has gone from bad to worse and with these last few water pumps it is now a squealing grinding kind of noise. The dealer has told me that VW have no fix for this problem and that they will just keep replacing it until I get a water pump that doesn't make a noise.
I also have a terrible shudder in my automatic DSG gearbox. When I am in second gear and accelerating the car shudders quite severely. When I took it back to the mechanic they have attached it to the computer and twice they have reset the timing of the gear changes. Since that didn't work they are now replacing the clutch. VW have said they do not have a fix for this problem but that if they replace the clutch it will stop shuddering for a few months. I am sure that they are trying to do whatever they can until the warranty runs out and then it becomes my expense to fix.
Has anyone else had these problems with their golf?

I feel for you.. seems you have copped the worst of it.
I had the sqeak from the water pump and luckily the replacement did fix it. It has been over 12,000kms and it hasn't come, back fingers crossed!
The DSG shudder - there is another thread on that! I have had my DSG re-flashed twice.. there was new software available the last time (so I was told) but if it doesn't help, which it doesn't seem to have, then call/email and they will order a new clutch pack.
The shudder is what has made me look into extending my warranty, $1450 for peace of mind or get rid of the car and buy something else closer to the end of the current warranty?! I love the car when it is behaving and almost hate it when it plays up.MY14 Audi S3 - Misano Red, S-tronic, Performance pack with parade red trim.

Your Car reminds me of my favourite axe. It has had 3 new handles and 2 new heads. Still the best Axe I have ever had thoughOriginally posted by LemonVW View PostI have a 2009 VW Golf and had nothing but trouble from it! I first noticed the noise at about 2000km. It was rather loud for a time, but it started to fade at 15000km. Maybe there is hope out there for all with the noise?Golf VI GTI MY13 Candy white/ DSG/ Detroits/ tint/ reverse camera/ parking sensors

In the last few days I've noticed a much louder 'woooosh' sound when accelerating in D at low RPM. Comes from the front of the car on the passenger side. Might just be from the warmer weather
[+] Got a leak in the charged air pipe coming from the intercooler according to VW.Last edited by Ryan_R; 04-12-2011, 08:02 PM.

There isn't a "fix" beyond what has already been released with the modified pumps released 12 months ago.Originally posted by rockDAhouse View Postanyone has any updates on this fix yet? the "eek" sound is really getting annoying now ...
There is another way.......
Apply a few drops of Belt Spray (Example) or WD40 to the gap between the inner & outer pulleys are on the water pump. Not a liberal spraying, I mean about 4 to 5 raindrop sized drips. Your are aiming to get the droplets onto the metal clutch part area. Leave it to work into the clutch mechanism overnight. In viewing the water pump pulleys from above you will see a plate protruding slightly above the levels of the pulleys. Apply there.
It may take 2 or 3 applications over time. The pet rodent should disappear except at extreme engagement speed, ie. when the Supercharger clutch is engaged up towards 2,500 - 3,000 rpm engine speed and the Supercharger has to start rotating from 0 rpm to 12,500 - 15,000 rpm.
By applying just a few droplets, the Supercharger clutch does not loose its ability to drive the Supercharger as normal.
If it returns (persists) then you will have to chance a new water pump assembly but the replacement will still be the latest fix introduced 12 months ago. And they are known to squeak.VW SCIROCCO 1.4TSI - DSG (MY2010) UK, East Cheshire.

So it will shudder instead?Originally posted by buzuki View PostThere is a fix on its way, VGA currently testing new design, they have changed the clutch material, it will now use similar material to that in the 7speedDSG clutch.
