Don't blame the tyre retailers. It's the wholesalers that are gouging the market. The tyre fitters can't buy them from the importer for the price we pay on the open market.MY02 Bora V6 4Mo|Matte Black plastidip|VTDA|R32 Exhaust|R32 dampers and springs|TT pedals|R32 steering wheel|17" 8L S3 rims|R32 sways|Blue Haldex|EBC reds

I'm running Dunlop sport maxx in 235/35/19. Decent tyre so far. Grip is fine, I don't push it, can get scrabbly in the wet tho. Tyre noise is an issue but I've done 11500km and dunlops r known for being loud. yokohama S drive is a touring tyre, so the noise should be better, but don't expect same dry grip level.
i use Michelin Primacy HP's (touring category) on my other car and they were fairly quiet on the roads Syd - Bne. But when i did the same roads with the GTI, the RE050A's were definitely louder.Mitsubishi Pajero Sport - Super Select 2WD/4WD

I'm running 19 oz racing rims that are +45 and lowered with no rubbing and I haven't removed the fender screw.2011 cw golf gti 3dr man-tint-rear cargo mat-weathershields-bluetooth-mdi-19" oz racing ultra leggera-mcgard lockbolts-boston acoustic pro60se-jl audio xd700/5-jl audio bass tube bb-w060p- titanium exhaust tips-eibach custom pro-kit-OPS-OSIR cf mirror covers and cf front lip-dieselgeek short shifter

For 18x8 +45 or more aggressive the rubbing occurs in a lowered car, when cornering hard or driving fast on deep dip, on track / twisties.
Won't happen while driving normally at legal limits on normal streets. If it does, then your wheels / tyres are way too aggressive OR you drive too fast on public roads!
The Wooduck's Golf R rubbed with his 19" OZ + 235 35 Dunlop GT, then he shaved the hub to fix it. I saw a chunk of the tyre cut by the fender while at Top One Arncliff.

If you have no vibrations and no pulling to the side then I would 100% not touch it.

4,000km's later and it's still there.. i havent got the energy to rotate them back to whence they came from!More opportunites have been lost from indecision, rather than wrong decision....

I am told by a very reputable and reliable source (who once we chatted didnt even want me to book in for a balance) that our cars are prone to heel and toe tyre wear on the non drive axle. so, when you put your rears on teh front, you get a horrible noise, but no vibration. esp with the re050's.

Hi guys!
I'm just wondering if anyone from this thread might be looking for some VMR V710 replicas. It appears to be exactly the same. I'm not sure abt the quality because I couldn't find anything on Google. But I am now trying to organize for a Group Buy.
It's $999 for a set of 4, but if i can rally 3 or more, he's willing to let it go at $900 per set.
I simply love the V710 look. And these cost lesser than buying VMR's from the states (mainly because of the big savings on shipping). This guy is in VIC. Pick up for VIC buyers is fine.
Refer to my thread here: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...ad.php?t=67033
Pls post ur interest there if u are! Thanks!!
