I just called them and it is actually a +45 offset and 8" wide..

Should I stick with that offset or go with the +35 as I want it flush but not to scrub.. + towing a jet ski as well lol

      • Hey Guys,

Getting golf 19" golf r replicas for my gti.. just wondering what offset will work +45 or +35

I will be towing a jetski if it helps.

Also, do the 19"s look silly on a stock height GTI as they are slightly higher than the Golf R

+45 for golf, +35 for roc.
Not silly but looks better if lowered

Thanks mate, what do you think 1 inch lower all around? Also what springs would be best for ride/handling?

does anyone have any pictures of the 19's on a stock height gti?

Price? Try tirerack. I just landed a set of Goodyear asymmetric 2 235/35/19 for $1100

Long story, i got tyres fitted to my 17" lame stock GTI wheels (not detroits) and they scratched my front 2 rims.
I paid $400 for the tyres, good deal though for dunlop sp sport maxx

I ended up talking to them and they said they will buy my rims off of me (rear has bridgestone potenza with 60% tread left) and the fronts that they just sold me. One of my rear rims has a slight gutter rash that i had done previously.

With the changeover I have to pay them another $1000 for the 19 inch rims (replicas) +45 offset... do you think I am getting a good deal? Keep in mind I already paid $400 for the wheels.

So with the trade of my rims all up $1400 for the replicas with KU39's and wheel allignment. I thought it was an ok agreement..

                    Thoughts?

well to give u an idea, u can sell denvers (the lame 17" gti rims) with tyres, brand new for usually $1200-1400, used with damage and semi used tyres for about $800. u can buy 19" talle rims with tyres for about $2000-2500 (oem, legit, real).
i guess u can do the maths.
check out vwgolf.net.au, there are some oem 19"s for sale right now

                        • Recommendations for 235/35/19 tyres please? Talladega rims...

                          Hi guys,

Just want to find out what tyres you guys recommend using on 19'' Talladega's? Any advice on what to buy or not to buy, would be great.

They will be going on my Mk6 GTI.

                          Cheers,
                          Russ

                          • i ran some dunlop sport maxx in those sizes for about 30k km, then i got a bulge in one so remvoed them and now im using the goodyear assymetric 2.
i think the assym 2 r better, definitely less road noise.
i dont drive very hard, so i cant comment on traction, but the dunlops would always scrabble in wet conditions. the assym 2 seem to drip better

Thanks walbjj. Only just saw your reply.

I ended up going with Continentals 5P at $350ea. Dunlops were $700ea... crazy money.

In this thread, someone asked for a photo of a stock height GTI with Talladegas...

                              Pretty happy with it

if ur quoting the dunlops at $700, then ur probably still buying locally, DONT. buy tyres from tirerack and save urself a lot of cash.
basically ui can get those same dunlops for about $1500 delivered for a set of 4.
i bought a set of continental extremecontact dw in 17" for my boss 302 and it cost about $900 delivered for a set of 4
