yeah I'm the same as you Dave I prefer the stock wheels to most of the wheels I have seen or mentioned in here so far.
I reckon the Talladegas are the nicest stock rims ever designed for a Golf. When I show my friends who don't what an R is, the first thing they comment is "NICE RIMS!".

There was the Mk1 and 2 golf's that had awesome stock wheels.
Also the Anniversary Mk4 had sick BBS wheels.
The talledegas are an almost direct copy of the current RS6 style wheels.
They will also be a biatch to clean when the brake dust settles on them after a week.

I completely agree, hence why I invested another $1100 for Black 19’s.
A comparative aftermarket wheel (+ rubber) with the same quality, finish and look it just way overpriced in my opinion.
Yeah, it is a little fussy to clean the talladegas, but i did manage it without too much effort
Maybe 15min to clean all 4 wheels... including the inside of the barrels.
My jumbo sponge is too big to fit between and behind the spokes,
Next time I'll cut it up, which will make it easier.

Use a product like Permanon on your alloys after you wash your car. Then brake dust and road grim won't "stick" to your alloys. Then next time you come to wash it, you can just wash the wheels using a damp rag or something instead of trying to squish a spong between the spokes and around the brakes etc.
Also, rather than using a sponge or rag, you can buy wheel brushes in various shapes and forms. These are also much easier to clean your wheels with.
But yeah, Permanon. Get some
(Use it on your entire car after each wash, not just the wheels. Works on paint and glass. Only takes 5 mins to apply to the entire car after a wash, and then makes the next wash, and drying, much easier).
