Hi all, just thought I'd share some pics of my new CS GTI, which finaly arrived last week. I've just fitted on a set of 19x8.5" ET40 wheels (with 225/35/19 Kumhos) on stock height.
Thinking of lowering it by say 30mm (<1inch) all around though with H&R Sports springs though I'm afraid it may start rubbing too much - want it to be a practical daily car. It was rubbing on the way home with the four stock 17" Denvers with tyres loaded inside around corners/tall humps.
Apologies for the blurry pics and dirty car, photos taken from my mobile and its been raining non stop here in Sydney.
Here are some photos of my GTI (picked up last Wednesday). I have tinted the front windows, painted the exhaust black, added the alloy rest pedal and changed the mags. On order are Carbon fiber (gloss) front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser, gear surround and B pillar.
You're right it is the OSIR lip, all the other bits are also OSIR, ordered via Rennenhaus. i don't want to lower it as there's the hassles of scraping the spoiler and watching out for driveways.
Ant, sorry you basically ruin a nice car.. take the rims out.. arggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhh
No one is right or wrong here. Wheels, probably more than anything, are a matter of personal taste. But I'll stick up for Ant here, I think his new 17s are very, very nice and about a million times better than Detroit 18s ... which I have to say I think are just awful.
To me, those Detroits have always looked like something a P Plater would put on a pimped Suzuki Swift.
