Depends on you budget really. MK6 R, MK6 GTI and MK6 TDI are all viable options, with the best really the R or the TDI (GTI of some years can have timing chain/belt issues). Stay away from anything with a the 1.4twincharge or the 7 speed DSG.

I agree completely. They are a great looking car, but for the love of whoever you hold holy stay away from the 7 speed and the twinchargers.
