Email Notifications Failing (mostly Telstra)
Hello everyone. Seems there is an issue with Telstra (possible others) blocking email from our server. If you are trying to sign up I would suggest a different email if possible. If you're trying to reset your password and it fails please use the Contact Us page:
Its certainly not running great mate - i would sort out the reason(s) for that first and you might find the knocking is related and goes away.
Have you scanned the cars ECU for any faults?
The Mk6 R engines are known for killing ignition coil packs causing misfires - although not usually present at idle (more under load) unless properly stuffed. Pretty hard to try and diagnose over the internet.
There are other known issues with the Mk6 R engine, especially now that they are 8-9 years old and most will have 100,000km's on them - but you wouldn't start replacing parts willy nilly without knowing what the root problem is.
A busted PCV is one of the known common issues on this engine. Get that sorted first and go from there. Surprised there are no fault codes with it idling like that.
Thinking about it, a busted PCV allows vacuum/boost to leak so this could be certainly part of the reason why it's idling poorly.
