Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • MK6 GTi enclosed intake

    Hi all,

Just need to try and find out if anyone has had a COBB big mouth intake installed in their car? I ordered one from a local supplier and got stuffed around for weeks then they finally told it won't fit because of my MAF sensor.

Being in NSW as far as I understand our intake filters need to be enclosed, but the only ones I've found have been COBB and Tarmac Engineering which doesn't look pretty.

Is there any others I am missing?

    Thanks.

I had the same problem tried looking for a exclosed intake that uses the stock maf with no luck and ended up just buying a cheap ramair intake and might have a cover custom made down the track

As I don’t want to change the whole pipe I just wanted a pipe from the maf to a nice enclosed box but I think the only option is to have something custom made
