Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

      • Finally got the Newsouth pod and boost gauge. Not a bad bit of kit. Since its vacuum formed, it's not perfect, a few gaps and rounded edges around the hole left usually filled with the vet cover. Must fix the gauge buzzing...totally forgot to add a bit of polyester fill inside the boost hose before fitting. The "indigo" led back light is a perfect match to the dash.

        Had new shoes fitted too.
        Falken 453's fitted all 'round.

Started the DSG gear indicator project. Tapped into the Can bus system by way of the instrument cluster wiring harness.
This is me physicing myself up to cut into the cables..."Don't F it up"

How do you mod the city light? Can you have both or just one or the other? I cant seem to find instructions on how to do these

                    • The front parking lights? I didn't do them myself, but apparently you can get to them through the front wheel well. Not sure what you mean by one and not the other, but the other light is the reverse light, totally different thing.

                      • The parkers are changed via the headlight, not the wheel well. All you do is pop the middle cap off the headlight and pull the parker bulb holder out and exchange it for a new one.

Here's a guide for you, it's incredibly simple: VWVortex.com - DIY: City Light Bulb Install

                            • So after waiting since mid July to get this, I discover that Forge didnt include any hose clamps with the kit.
Probably never gonna buy anything with Firge written on it again.
