  • How long did ou wait for your VW

    How long did everyone wait.

That is from the time you sign the contract until the keys were finally in your hands.

I've been waiting around 6.5 weeks and found out I still have a little under 2 months left to wait.... Thats approx 15 week wait

It gets to a point you just start not to care

2 months and 3 weeks for the first car before I had to change to another one coming in because of another delay on it. The first car ended up becoming a week 21 build from a week 10.

1 week on the second car, this car was ordered by someone else 2 weeks after mine was in January was being built when my first one was supposed to be so I signed up for that one as the other person wasn't able to wait. Then a week after this sorted my dealer (Austral VW) decided to screw me for another $5,000 so I ended up parting ways with them and taking my trade in car back.

4 weeks on the third car which was ordered by someone else but cancelled, had to settle on less features then I wanted (no bi-xenons or PDC) and have the RNS510 fitted afterwards and also a change of car from GT Sport TDI's to the current GTI. This car was from Highway Auto.

So all up 4 months and $5000 more then I originally planned to spend (GTI was more money)

And the wait sucked, especially when I was jerked around in a major way on the first two cars.

Decided to buy one around the 2nd week of Jan, advertised my old car on carsales, sold it and picked up the car on the 26th Jan. had to wait 3 days for it come from port macquarie, but it was the exact spec i was after.

if i was to do it again, id take anything close to the spec i want to avoid the wait.

3 weeks for my GTI, actually the car was ready in under 2 weeks, but my rims took another week.

Initially I wanted a sunroof which would have meant a +3 month wait.

Though if I wanted a sunroof + satnav I could have walked out with a GTI the same day.

Six and a half months for the GTI back in 2006, and the R36 looks as though it'll be six months, too.

Dad waited about 18 months for his Q7, but that's because he ordered/placed a deposit before they were even released in Europe.
                            R36 =
