If you're still thinking of buying it give them a ring and point out all the things wrong, including previous accident damage. Offer them $2000 less and start haggling from there.

That way you've got spare $ for repairs and maintenance.

If they aren't interested walk away.

Hang in there mate, there are plenty of other good GTIs around. Hunt down one with a good service history over factory extras and your off to a good start.

also, which ever car you are keen on, go to a dealer with the VIN, as they can give you the warranty history!

Now the question is: is there a new VW newbie post from the poor bugger who bought that car?

Thought I would just add this to the thread. I'm selling this for $12k. 2008 Gti 108km on the clock. Needs the 105k service done and the price above reflects that. Full Leather inside sitting on 18's. Tires are really good. DSG. Have owned this since new. I imported this from NZ under the normal personal import scheme. No issues. I did this as I bought the car and had it for 6mths before being transferred from NZ to Aus with work. Let me know if interested. I do have a friend interested in it at the moment. But still not committed. Cheers Chris
