Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

    Intermittent scraping noise at idle on Mk5 Golf (2.0TDI, DSG)

    Hi everyone,

    I've got a Mark 5 Golf (2.0TDI, DSG) that has an intermittent scraping sound when idle. It happens both in idle and in gear, but goes away as soon as you accelerate. The sound is a bit easier to hear under the car, but can also be heard from the top. There's a video of the sound here:
