Hi, My 2014 Amarok 2L has a fairly bad leak coming from under the engine oil filter bowl .. had a mechanic do a pressure test and its pissing out from somewhere under there. Has anyone else had this issue? it doesnt seem to be coming from the EGR cooler, its more 'central' than that.. very hard to see...

I have been a longtime viewer since I owned my first Passat 2.0TDI 2009 sedan followed by a 2011 Passat 2.0TDI wagon.

After deciding it was time for some new wheels and being a convert to VAG, I had a look at lots of options before test driving and deciding on...

Just popping in to introduce myself... Recently bought my first VW, an 06 Jetta 2.0TDI. No mods as yet, but have plans!

Common faults -

The Amarok’s 2.0TDI is quite robust engine and as long as it’s well maintained is reliable.

The things to look out for;

1.EGR Cooler failure, more like degradation and really should be replaced as a part of preventative maintenance....

Retired grey nomad. Have just sold my 2013 Nissan Navara which was my tow tug for 24' Roma Caravan 2.5t. The Navara did it easily on a trip around Oz.
Now looking at a 2.0tdi or v6 Amarok autos for next tug.
Purchase in about 6 months so plenty of info and research.
