Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Which colour is it,I think you got it for a good price.
Given the price of the used Jetta's, after a while that was all I was considering pretty much. Started off looking at Lancers, i30's etc which are similar in price but obviously very different, then compared golf's with jetta's and actually preferred the Jetta's looks. Then it was just a matter of finding the right one, and it came up within about 3 weeks of looking!

I'll say it as clearly as I can.
If you don't buy from an overseas online seller (there are dozens) then you'll have to buy from VW Australia spare parts. This will require you to visit a bricks & mortar vehcile dealership franchises with a spare parts department. VW Australia don't have an online retail presence. Maybe one of the Australian dealership franchises has an online spares presence but I'm not aware of one.carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic

2006 and early 2007 TDI's were delivered without the "2.0 TDI" chrome badge displayed on the right hand side even though the brochures (overseas brochure shown in Australia) had them.
I purchased my "2.0 TDI'' chrome badge on ebay from Euro seller for around $20-$25 (cannot remember exactly as was in late 2006) and matched the same font and size as the original "JETTA" badge on the LHD.
The red "I" and probably the blue "I" generally indicate a higher spec output of the engine. Happy to be corrected on the meaning of the blue colour though.

Depends on what your risk profile is & how much you want to spend.
Personally, I think the first mod anyone should do is a remap.
With 80,000+ km the dampers are probably starting to get tired so fit Koni Sports adjustable dampers.
I could think of a dozen things to do but if you are risk averse & your idea of a mod is to fit LEDs to the parking lights then we are talking different languages.carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic

How do I organise a remap and what is the usual cost? I'm in Adelaide.
