Congrats Baily78 - Great news! I've been driving everywhere and anywhere...it's amazing how excited you can get about getting milk late at night, if it gives you an excuse to go for a drive!!!

Cheers guys!
Times like this I wish I lived further away from work! hehehe
(Live one end of St Kilda Rd and work down the other end!)
But yes - finding every excuse under the sun to go for a spin!
Put on over 100k's driving through the south eastern beach side suburbs last night :O)
I'm sure you are going through the same thing
The wait was definitely worth it.sigpic

Ive got mine so much fun driving it.
8hr drive home on highways and some back roads, only thing is I have to go back to the dealer to get some stuff that they missed fixed. (Front diffuser is bent in the middle and a small chip on the front bumper)
They are at least paying for me to go to Melbourne and back.

You lot! I have to wait until April.......
Does the GTi come with the drawers under the seats? Are floor mats included or are they extra. My dealer said they are included on a GTi.sigpic GTI | MY08 | Blue Graphite | DSG | Leather | Bi-Xenon | RNS510 |

After a few days of driving, I absolutely love the car. I have had a few small irritations that have detracted a little from the experience though (perhaps I'm just pedantic???)...
1) I opened the passenger window for the first time today (had windows tinted so had to wait a few days to open) and noticed it doesn't go down all the way - i.e it sticks out a few mm from the sill. Is this normal??? I assume not as the drivers one goes down all the way.
2) I noticed 2 very light scratches on the car which I assume occured when the dealer was chamoising the car when I picked it (it was pouring rain and car had obviously been outside). I didn't notice the marks when I picked up as it was quite dark and they're not really noticeable. Have I got any hope of getting the dealer to fix?? The paint isn't broken, so it should polish out in any case.
3) I also noted a barely audiable rattle from the hatch when I go over road bumps. I guess this is somewhat to be expected, although I'm a fussy bastard so I'm not sure if it's worth whinging about...
Thoughts??? Advice???
Thanks

1) I just went and checked, and I noticed that my Front Passenger window does sit prone prob 1/2 CM....I checked it by holding down the unlock button on my keys...however when I held down the unlock button a second time, it went all the way down....strange!
2) It's always worth asking...even if it is your word against theirs...they'll usually try to keep you a happy customer
3) I always hear little things...I think unless they really bug you, I'd just let it go...
My two cents!_______

Hey gti_syd congrats on the new car.
I will be purchasing exact same car (except white) in the next week or so....how much should I be expecting to pay drive away. Just wanna know if there is much 'fat' in these cars for the dealer and how much discount is possible?

I got a fleet discount (which I wasn't aware of until the dealer brought it up - it may be worth asking if the company you work for has the same arrangement with VW) so my drive away was $46250...this was also with full tank of fuel and Euro plates, but no other options like tints, leather protection or any of that stuff...
The begin price with dealer chargers etc was about $53500 (can't remember exactly)._______
