24 Hour Countdown Begins...

G'day guys, I've noticed there are a lot of 'soon to be' Golf owners on the web site, so thought I'd share the excitement of the last 24 hour countdown til I pick up my new GTI!

The wait is nearly over, and tomorrow I will drive away my first VW...and I'm very excited. Even though it will be stock, I will still post up some photo's, to share the love!

I know there are a few people picking up their cars over the next week or so, so thought we could put down our initial thoughts, photo's, issues, etc etc...

This forum has been a great source of knowledge, so hopefully as I become a new GTI owner I'll be able to feed some back...

Also looking forward to catching up with other VW owners on a cruise at some time (permission from the wife pending...)

hey gti_syd great news for ya you will truly enjoy it. I've had mine for 2 weeks almost now and I can tell you its a bloody great car in all respects. Best car to buy between the 40 and 50k bracket. Im not being biased as Ive had/driven all sorts of cars in the past.

i'm just been told my car is being built in week 6 of 2008 and wont arrive to the dock until 25 March.

Hi Guys, my Jetta is finally here (been waiting since September 07). I am fianlising paper work tomorrow and do the final predelivery checks. I don't pick it up from the dealership until Sunday.......can't wait. the last few days are the worst of the waiting period.

For those of you still waiting, I share your pain but can tell you the waiting period is where you learn the most. I have learnt heaps from this forum and hopefully will be able to provide valuable feedback over time.

you should pickup your car as soon as they're ready, don't do it until Sunday, I've heard some damn dealers will take sold cars for other customers test driving them, then you should know how your car will ended up like ...

Well people, as is always the way in life, things don't always do according to plan...the car I was promised tomorrow may not come until Friday!!! Now, I know many of you who are waiting months for your cars are thinking 'who cares, get over it'...but when you're this close to the finish line...it's a little depressing...

Needless to say I've given the dealership hell, and they're now trying to get it to me for tomorrow!

I just want my car!!!!

I am ready to bitch slap my car broker!!!!
My company prefers that its staff us a nominated car broker to procure their novated lease vehicles as it saves the staff from wasting too much company time looking for their new car.

This broker just will not communicate. I don't know my chassis or vin number. I ended up contacting the dealer he has organised the car through myself last week to find that my car arrived into Patricks PK 7.1.2008.

I beleive it should be close but cannot even get my finance sorted(allow 3-4days) as I don't have enough details on the car! AAAAArrrrggghhhh.

Let me just say that his performance in the next few days is being monitored by our General Manager and if things do not improve, it will be the last one he gets for us!!!!!!

I am on holidays next week and REALLY want my NEW GTI.

My anticipation is fast becoming FRUSTRATION!
Guess I may have to learn some patience????
