Our Mk5 had between 70-100kms. Mind, I drove it for about 20kms from the dealer to where we had the colour coding done. From memory it had about 13kms before I left, so it should have had around 50-60kms by the time it came back from the colour coding. While we can't remember the exact figure, I had a feeling it was pretty close to 100kms and thinking that it had obviously been driven a bit further than I would have thought. We also had the windows tinted prior to delivery but I figured that it would have been done on site???

Either way, it hasn't made a lick of difference to the ownership experience, the car hasn't missed a beat and we're almost at 20,000kms now.

our polo had just under 2k's from memory... it had to go to richmond (vic) from werribee to get the tinting done etc... so they had it trucked out there and back.
don't think there is too much you can really do about the k's put on the car, specially if you know it was in the yard when you decided to buy that particular one. if it comes direct off the ship to the dealer then to you then i wouldn't expect too many k's on it.

        Those new car KLM's

Our company cars are usually delivered with KLM's in the mid teens, Falcons about 16-20, Camry, Corolla and Taragos between 1 and 6. It depends on the dealer. I have found the higher the K's the better pre-delivery inspection. With cars with 1 KLM quite often there is still plastic covering the trim, missing touch-up paint, no wallet for the books, seat belts all plugged in etc.

And yes the delivery driver's just want your car of the truck ASAP (They get paid per truck load delivered) and some staff think its great to place the car in "L" and push the peddle to the metal and have the rev limiter stop the fun. Nothing like that hot new engine smell !

Back in the late nineties when ****-box Festivas were new I was with a disgruntled (former) employee who was very unhappy with the company and proceed to drive in first gear until it "popped out" as well as change gear without the clutch. That's up and down...

My 2000 Mazda bravo came with 26 on the odo, Cabriolet had 127000

Just picked mine up today 23k's...but what I thought was interesting was the trip computer told me it was averaging 17l/100k...which would tell me whoever drove the thing would have had a lead foot!!!
