Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

No probs mate, be good to see your new intake as well. Once I get things sorted we'll arrange a time then.

What he said. Took a while to get used to brakes with so much assistance. And felt they worked well right from new too.

Red may be the devils colour, but this car is pure heaven

Right now the only assistance I am getting that would help with the braking is a 200kg fat guy helping me to push it in. Now not sure if this is related to the bedding of the brakes, but the brakes on my R32 are no where near the sensitivity of the one that I test drove.

It's been suggested that I speed up to 60km and stomp on the brakes to bed them. But given that it's thrown an engine fault code and it's not idling properly it's a bit hard to do that.

Just frustrated, I got lots of work and new car isn't working as intended

Simple solution taking 5 mins to fix. Vacuum tube had come loose, therefore also triggering the engine fault code.

Not quite sure how that happened. But all good now. Time to enjoy the ride.
