    Well that does suck then!!!

Guy, would you class this much amount of movement in the rear bush of the lower control arm normal/acceptable (also note how much the wheel moves in the background!!!).

Have your email Don - needs to be checked out, its not the rear bush at all, its something else.

I thought the rear bush controlled the radial movement (side-to-side, up, down) & the front bush controlled the fore/aft movement?

While prying it with the bar it would be nice to see what is happening at the front part of the LCA.

Prestige and Performance looked at it today. Agreed front bush was no good. They said bring it back next Wed and they'll sort it out from there (not sure what that means but we'll see come next Wed I guess).

Thanks for your help Guy. Greatly appreciated.

Prestige replaced both front bushes (left and right side) today. Apparently there's a new front bush design.....surprise surprise. Car handles so much better now. Just need new tyres and rims now!!!!

Mmm I am starting to get the exact same characteristics, steering feels vague, hear a clunk when I am going slow over bumpy road and car feels like it floats, also getting some serious axle tramp, stock was better, will jack up the car this weekend and check the bushes as well. When did you install your alloy arms? I had mine installed in July 2012 i wonder if mine had the old design bush.

I got mine installed just over 12 mths ago (late August 2013).

If you can't get the car up on a hoist then you can still see the wheel move just from rolling the car forward and back and braking. You'll see the wheel move relative to the wheel arch when the car brakes (standing observing from the side of the car).

                          Epic thread bump.

Well the rear bushing was the culprit both got replaced under warranty

The arms are imported, they are an OE casting & they come in the "bright" coated finish, they are not polished at all.

The bushes are cast / poured into the arms in Moorooka, Brisbane.

The design of the rear bushes is similar to other "made in Asia" Gold & Yellow "Anti Lift Kits", they add approximately 1.5 degrees of static castor.

Unlike the "Anti Lift Kits" listed above, we don't have bushing failure due to the high lateral forces splitting the rear bush. There were multiple design changes to overcome this, and all tested on our APR Australia cars on the track & street. An example of the testing is some versions of "Anti Lift Kits" wouldn't last 20 laps of QLD Raceway with braking forces of the National Circuit. They have also failed on VAG cars competing in Targa Tasmania.

There are now also adjustable ball joints that work specifically with these arms that allow us to achieve an extra 1.5 degrees of negative camber.

These ball joints are included in the Harding Performance version of the arms (RR $750).

                            Summary:

They are an OEM VW / Audi arm, they are not "polished"
They do have "Anti Lift" bushes in the rear
They do have harder bushes in them so you may experience different noise & vibration to stock arms
They have harder bushes in them, so you do get better feedback & response.

Like all suspension changes, a good wheel alignment is critical, you can throw all the suspension parts you like at a car, and be let down badly by the wheel alignment.
                            Hi Guy,

Reviving an old thread here but was wondering if the Superpro Alloy Arms are much of an upgrade over TTS stock arms which I believe are already alloy (and some people seem to use these as an upgrade on Golf's).
The weight saving would be less or non-existent but do you still get camber and caster advantages?

                            Thanks,
                            Craig

                              Hi Craig,

On a TTS the only real advantages would be more rear castor & a pivoting bush. There may be more camber available from the balljoint but I have never confirmed on a TTS.
