I have power steering - there was no steering weight difference

With the negative camber (ball joints all the way out) I now have more road feel and road grip - turn in is awesome
I hate to admit it as I try not to do this but I can now do a lot of braking and cornering at the same time without the tyres or car getting upset

Any suspension mod that makes power assisted steering feel more heavy could be a bad thing for the power steering equipment

You didn't change tyres pressure or wheel size or wheel offset? They could all change the feel

Ok, so my axle tramping with my LCA's appears to be getting worse. Almost as bad as it was at stock control arms. Do the bushes soften with mileage? Also from discussions above should I be looking at a wheel alignment if the axle tramping is returning with the superaloy LCA's? I have noticed a touch more torque steer also of late? I need to resolve this axle tramping as that was the only reason I got the LCA's. Also if I get a wheel alignment at a normal tyre place do I need to give them any specifics for wheel alignment due to the increased camber of the LCA's (I have the adjustable ball joints).

Search for Superloy and you will find numerous postings

Their benefits are (assuming you get the adjustable ball joint thingo):

• Lighter
• Hard bushes
• Anti lift
• More castor
• More negative camber

I'm running them with 0.5 (0:30) degree more caster and -1.75 (1:45) camber
The straight line stability and sure footed turn in is a significant improvement over stock

Thanks Martin. Just for clarification, I have the superaloy LCAs. I'm just noticing a deterioration in their ability to reduce axle tramping so was looking for some suggestions/ideas as to why this may be occuring?

Recently ive heard of some of the superpro bushes failing. Maybe get under the car and check both the front and rear bush to make sure they dont have any cracks etc.

Well, turns out my bushes have failed on my lefthand Supaloy LCA. I have about 15-20mm movement in the bush and the car is riding like a pig at the moment. Also have about 5mm of movement in the righthand LCA bush so it looks as though it's also on it's way out. Supaloy LCA's are only 12 mths old, almost to the exact same day/date they were installed last year.

Certainly NOT a happy camper with this product at all!!!

And based on Guy's comment above about the bushing being cast into the LCA, I'm assuming that you can't just replace the bushing now either...rather you have to purchase a whole new set of LCA's?

Yep seen it too Tim, ive swapped them out for failing and getting super noisy. As some know I do the solid rubber Seat ones for the Polos but haven't yet done an "upgrade" for this set up other than just fit OEM. I have a new swag of Seat ones coming and be interesting tosee if they fit into the castings, I have a spare casting to try, reason is at is that some Polos actually got caddy ones at the dealer and they be pretty much the same in OD. Ill try that when I get a bit of "time"

Should be under SuperPros warranty.

At worst it would be an exchange console bracket/bush (the two chunky bits in the middle of the photo) and I assume the front bush (bottom left & top right in the photo) is a 2 piece unit & can easily be changed. If it's just the console bush and you don't want to fiddle with poly bushes anymore then maybe fit some Lemforder OEM replacements. You''l lose the geometry changes though.

It's not that I don't want to fiddle with poly. It's just that I'd expect a product to last more than 12mths!!!

I'd expect it to last more than 12 months too.

A lot of my mates put poly bushes in the LCAs of their gen4 Libertys & they seemed to last anywhere from 2 years to 4 years but needed regular applications of white grease.

Maybe I'm wrong but in certain applications poly doesn't seem to have the durability.

There's a twisting motion at the rear of of the control arm which beats the snot out of a polyureathane bush in this location. They work well when the motion is pure rotation.

If you bought ours (With the black bushes) then we offer a limited lifetime warranty to the original purchaser.

We use a harder duro than the regular Superpro ones. We just did a strip down & inspection on our stage 4 Golf & they look like brand new after 6000 race miles.

Take them back to your original supplier & ask for warranty.

Guy, do you just sell the bushes then? Front and rear and hence could you fit your bushes to my LCAs?

No Don - sorry, as the arms also have the matching component (the poly then round metal bush) cast onto the arm - we don't do them separately.
