    Hi Chaps -

Anybody tried these out on their Mk5's yet?

They look interesting. I'm guessing most of the improvement is from the stiffer bushings..

    Anybody run them?

    Cheers.

I've got them on my mk6. Big improvement! Steering feels lighter and turn in is so much sharper. Also about 2kg weight saving per side over oem.

Easy enough install job? Do you need a wheel re-alignment done (ie can be it be done at home?)

How much did they set you back?

      Cheers.

I had my VW specialist instal them. 1.5hrs labour. The gearbox has to be lifted a little to get the front bolt out on the LH lower control arm. RHS is easy as. If you have a hoist at home it would be ok to install at home. Yes you need to get a wheel alignment done after installation.

I got mine from this ebay seller for $520 shipped. VW MK5 MK6 GTI GOLF R Audi S3 Arm Super Pro Lower Control Arms & Anti-lift Kit | eBay

Thinking of getting a set of these too.

Did they make the ride comfort different at all?

The build quality is top notch too.

              Thx..

I presume if they're lighter they're made from a different material? Aluminium? No reliability/toughness issues? (My car gets driven real hard)...

              Cheers fellas.

Looked at those too, but then decided in favour of OEM AUDI S3 kit. Aluminium as well with stiffer OEM bushings.
Will do those when my chocks are due... 100K on the now, getting close

Very interesting!! What makes the dearer Audi ones better, do they allow more caster adjustment??

They are made of aluminum. I've only had mine on for 1500km. I guess they would bend if you hit a solid object at speed just like the oem arms would.

Guy Harding uses these on his Golfs. So they must handle track use fine

The new rear bush adds up to 1.5deg positive castor.

                        Audi ones better you think?

How come both left and right arms are the same? Do you just flip them over for use on the other side?

Do the Audi ones have just as stiff a bushing? I presume so, that's really what stiffens up the steering, no?

All being equal I'll probably go the Audi units. Price is very close and they're proven too I suppose.

Hey dude - can you inform how these are "adjustable caster" ?
Arent they a direct replacement -
OEM heavy-duty control arm bushings from the European S3 tighten your suspension for improved handling and stiffer road feel.

Personally im installing the superpro alloy arm kit this weekend - will report back ! Some more caster is a great thing on a little FWD like ours.

thanks for that link - but its adjustable "camber" not caster - different terms and different things Typo?

BTW guys i installed the superpro arms today - didnt take too long - just made sure to torque everything correctly and also torque the front bushing bolt to 180nm with the wheel or suspension compressed to static height. a couple of extensions through the lower air feed on the front bar and i got there !

Improvement in handling. Steering initially lighter then firms up as the wheel rotates. Also as the wheel rotates it becomes more tight in a handling sense as the wheels angle a touch more. A nice mod - new bushes , caster kit and weight saving all in one package.
