Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I havn't read libel laws, but there's no way that it's illegal to state fact about what happened.

They would come into effect if you started opinionating. Defamation can only occur when you state something above straight fact.

Libel laws are extremely complex and whilst what you are saying in essence is true, think of the admin team here who are responsible for what is published on this forum.

Anybody can log on to this site anonymously, there is nothing to prevent any user making false allegations against any person or organisation. The admin team have no way of knowing what is and what is not true and who it is that may be making such allegations therefore there is no choice but to err on the side of caution.

      Cheers

you are exactly right george! thanks for that!!!

I am all for posting bad experiences, but as we dont personally know each member and know they are saying the truth,we have to be cautious!! as recent events on another forum where the owner is going to court after a member posting his bad experiences up,it scared the hell out of us.... remember this is a free ,member based forum.we are not millionaires making billions out of this site!!!

        sorry guys!

My parents tried to buy a VW at Liverpool or at least look at one, they were very keen but the salesman basically refused to let them drive one. Probably just a bad individual, but still.

The experience left them very soured and they bought a Subaru Outback instead, real shame. Would have liked to see them in a nice VW, but it wasn't to be. Maybe next time.

I went there when I was looking around to buy the Jetta, had a conversation with the salesman, wasn't at all interested to get me into the car to test drive. I gave him the exact spec I was after and asked for a price (no trade in involved), was given approximate numbers only and when I left gave him my business card and said if he wanted the deal to contact me with his best price. Still waiting for his call!

            Cheers

Chatswood Classic Cars - Excellent buying experience

Talk to Henry Liu at CCC - he's the Assistant Sales Manager. I had a marvellous experience there and would buy another one from him tomorrow if I had the $$$.

I never once stood around unattended and Tulsa (the concierge) makes a pretty good coffee.

There was no BS and Henry (and the rest) knew his stuff. He gave me my 1st quote and no-one could even match it. That was even AFTER I told him I wanted to buy the car from them because they are the closest dealer / service.

I got stuffed around royally by the finance (nothing to do with CCC) and CCC were most accommodating.

The car was spotless & had 16km on it.

The irony was that CCC was the 1st car yard my wife & I walked past & sighed - "we'll never be able to afford one of those" & headed off to look at Mazda 3's et al. I wasn't even going to buy a new car but it worked out cheaper than an ex-demo with 14,000 km on it. Fleet discount - go figure.

Epic FAIL for Amanda @ Kloster who responded to my email request for a quote with "LOL". CCC beat my "LOL" price by $1000 simply by asking where I work.

I was in the same boat, ended up getting my R32 complete with onroads cheaper than 2 year old used ones stickered price. Didn't even realise I was entitled to fleet discount until I told my boss I was looking for a new car and one of the cars I was looking at 2nd hand was an R32.

Good luck with the new car.

I've received good service from CCC. I bought on a weekend in January when they had a special deal. The car arrived when they said and was beautifully presented. I would recommend them

I generally found Barloworld Mascot good for sales, but atrocious service wise ( based on wifes 06 trendline). I got mine through fleet from Nathan @ Nepean. Great service genuinely nice guy.

I have found this site really informative and am now writing my first post.

I recently purchased a 2008 gti from chatswood classic cars and have had more than a few minor hiccups along the way.

They have gone totally out of their way to address all the problems with a minimum of fuss, to giving a loan car at any time and following through with phone calls to ensure I was completely satisfied. From Oliver @ sales and Ara @ service they have made me feel super important to their organisation.

I have been buying vehicles for close to 30 years and have yet to experience this kind of customer service with any other dealership. I would have no hesitation in recommending CCC to anyone planning on purchasing a new vehicle.
