2 years, 10 months. Called VW Roadside Assist and they sent a RACQ worker to come diagnose, turns out my battery was faulty so the RACQ worker gave me a brand new one on the spot for free. Score

My OEM Varta battery died on Wednesday after 3 years, 4 months and 72,000km. I had no early warning signs. Car started perfectly in the morning, however would not even crank when I tried to start it again in the afternoon. Just got the clicking noises and dashboard lights dimming -totally dead.

Fitted a new Super Charge Gold MF66H battery and I'm back on the road. Was after a Century battery as I believe they are Australian made but couldn't locate one locally so went with Super Charge as they have 3 year warranty.

After my recent service I was told that it's the original OEM battery. Car is 6 years old and done 64,xxx km's. Should probably replace it...

I got my Varta orig. tested yesterday... its 5 yrs old now.. the reading was 315... but I have no idea what unit of measure that is.
I was told not much life left in it (hope thats the case and not bs) so I ordered a Amaron Pro battery $240 will end up costing me.

That would be CCA (cold cranking amps), if it's TDI, replace the battery.

Replaced mine last week after 4 years and 3 days (I wouldn't have been surprised if it had a 4 year warranty! ) Happy starting again, the recent cold weather helped show its age with slow cranking.
