Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Yeah the service was the same at barloworld mentone. Car parked in main showroom, keys handed over with a handshake and a congrats. Then with a twist of the key in the ignition and i was off straight into.....peak hour traffic on the nepean, but for once i didnt care about traffic because i was in my new GTI.

Congrats on the new car Geoff, enjoy!
    Thanks m8,
What a great idea though, eh? Sure as hell makes you feel special, car delivered to you in the middle of the showroom, start her up and off you go.

Probably would have been one of those 3 month waits - needed to change over for taxation reasons, etc before then so here we are.
      Hey Geoff.
From memory the cost is about $350.00 for the lights.
      Would look good.

            Gday Neil,
Is this for after market fitting? More info please

NB: Fog Lights do add to the front end - previous 3 cars had them.
            Cheers,
            Geoff.

              Jetta convert

You Jetta looks fantastic! I reckon the colour and the wheels make it. When my Golf is replaced I now know it'll be by a Jetta . I thought long and hard about a Passat, but the extra money and the difficulty and expense of getting a manual now rule it out.

2 years to go........(I reckon I better order it in about a year's time )

                Thanks Brackie,
Yep. Gotta agree - colour & wheels look great.
I actually sat in a Passat and thought, wow it is a great looking car, but just too expensive for my budget
The Jetta won out over the Golf, primarily for the boot size. Then the remaining extras just made the decision easier.
                Cheers.

                  Geoff hi.

Still searching but I think they were an option from VW.
When I had them send me a brochure it had a small seperate price list
and I thought that was cheap for fog lights.
                  Check with your dealer.

                    hi neil,
yeh, that would have been for factory fitted fog lights. unfortunately i would have had an extended wait if i wanted them.

                          It lifts and separates

I think it's actually for protecting against stone chips etc.
