I see they have these for sale in the UK for $999 including postage, and they are genuine VW with Australian GPS maps, I was thinking of getting one but is the radio frequency they same as in Australia.
And as i have the VW reverse sensors would it work on the RNS510. or would i need a new cable to connect it?

And would it work in the 2008 Golf Gt with out and changes?

Do you have an RCD310/RCD510 in the car now?

I have this one in the Tiguan and it works perfectly, however it needs some coding via vagcom to get the steering wheel controls to work and it also requires a setting to be changed to allow the compass to work.
Might need to check on DVD region coding as well.

Can i connect the reverse camera up to this unit as i already have a after market camera and monitor in the golf, and if i installed it my self would Vw do the steering wheel controls or is there another alternative ?

Anyone with a vagcom could do the steering wheel controls, compass and dvd region.

I don't think there is a receiver on the back for a reverse camera, might need to check out some forums/google searches.

I was thinking that my self ,the seller has 100% feed back and if they were sent from China i'm sure there would be a lot of complaints ?

It is plug and play.
The steering wheel controls for volume will work, but the track selection buttons won't work unless you code them.

Maybe google retrofitting the RNS510 into your model and see if there is anyone else who has done it.

I can safely say that you should be happy from this seller, as i bought my unit through this guy as well. Delivery took only a week and everything worked except the steering wheel controls. This will either need VAGCOM or in my case i downgraded the firmware and everything worked. Though i think they come from somewhere in eastern europe and not UK.. but still.. cheap and works.. if all else fails u have ebay/paypal protection

What about the other seller in eastern europe who's selling it for about $40 less incl shipping? this other one is not quite 100% but at around 95%+ it's probably worth trying too

I asked them where the RNS510 will be posted from and this is their reply , i can get it delivered from 3 different places,if its under $1000 there is no custom charges is there ?

If you want to connect OEM VW camera,then you can do it plug and play,if aftermarket rear view camera,then you need multimedia adapter it cost 180$.
We have 3 warehouses.UK.Germany,Lithuania
If we ship from UK or Germany so it takes 7-14 days to deliver to Australia.
From Lithuania with TNT 3-4 days.And no custom charges.
We can ship from any of these warehouses upon request.

Perhaps something to consider. I've now had 3 of these units. First one worked perfectly, except for the GPS, which never saw any satellites. Second one failed suddenly after working for about 18 months. They were both replaced very quickly and professionally by Harding/Volkspower. I don't know that I'd be prepared to buy one from ebay.
