2007 Golf GTI price

Hi VW Watercooled enthusiasts.

I recently test drove the Golf GTI and sat down to go over pricing, for a sale before the End of financial Year.

The initial figure appeared to be inflated, which when haggled down was said to be "A great deal", but to me appeared closer to what it should have been at start.

Can I please be advised what a drive-away price should be around for a new 2007 Golf GTI, with standard paint, leather and DSG.

Picked it up November 06. Would this be an 06 model or 07 model??... not sure how it works, really.

$50k drive away. Guess you can take away the list price of the headlights to get some idea as to what you should be paying.

If you had to order it and wait the months to get it, a Nov 06 delivered car would be an 07 model. I picked up my 07 model in sept 06.

I had originally gone in with the three door in mind, which threw me a bit. I didn't know the price gap between that and the five.

mine one have sunroof as well, forgot to put it before

3 doors will be $1.5-2k less than the 5 doors one~

I reckon mid 40s would be around the mark. But some dealers don't like to discount and some don't mind knocking a few bob off. We got $2K off our GTI, but when the dealer delivery was $3K it was the least they could bloody do.

Looks like the price of the cars is coming down a bit, could be supply catching up to demand finally.

I wonder if the cost of the cars differ from state to state... would they be cheaper in Brisbane than Sydney say, guess it boils down to how much the dealer wants to pocket.

other cosideration i guess is if you pick a car that the dealer has had sitting in his yard for a while you generally have better bargaining power.

Put down a deposit and it looks like in a month, all things going well, I'll have a new GTI.

Thanks for the advice on prices and VIN numbers. There are some good dealerships and some not so good... and some who are just a bit too vague with details.
