They talk down the recall thing saying its just to stop a bogus code from coming up but last night, with my car after reflashing it. WOW! Huge difference!
Much better power delivery, heaps more torque and revs out better. No, it wasnt a cool night either, bout 16 degrees on the way home.
    Cheers, Andrew

Andrew was just wondering, if they updated your program and you then had it changed back to what it was wouldn't it be exactly the same as what you started with?

R32 is here and sounds awesome, loving the throttle blips on the down changes.

A reflash doesn't change all of the settings in the ECU, mainly the fuel and ignition maps.

The reflash would be based on all of the other componenets working as per the original car they tuned , so if for example there was a problem with throttle sensor mapping in a particular version of the OEM software then the reflash won't adjust for that issue. This would be the case with any of the sensors, and any of the reflashes.

Red may be the devils colour, but this car is pure heaven

You would only think so, I can't imagine people asking for more money for another flash lol.

I'd say it would be free, can we have the dealers comments on this, clear up some questions.

The tuning files only modify certain tables - other VW tables are left untouched (example - the cold start maps) - so thats why its important to make sure your have the current VW version!

Hey ITGWV, my GTI is performing better than it ever did for some reason. Not sure why but it revs out a lot cleaner and has more low down grunt. The thing went very well before and I was very happy with it. 220 km/h down Sandown straight with 5 on board last August.
I only drove it for 7 kms back from the dealer after the recall so I wasnt used to being on the std program again. APR have had to alter their programs to suit the recall. Have you had the recall done yet mate?
                    Cheers, Andrew

And as has been stated sooo many times here on this post, the recall is only for the 2litre PETROL turbos!!!!!
