DSG lost all drive!!

Well, picked up the loan car yesterday (MK6 TDI) which I am very impressed with...... update on the mechatronics is one is being pulled from the production line and programmed with my chassis number.... apparently the mechatronics unit will not function until programmed with the specific chassis number of the vehicle it is going into (engine will disable it otherwise)...... great security feature I suppose but a pain in the a*s when it comes to lead time!!

On the second attempt the correct Mechatronics unit arrived this morning from Germany (after being recoded to my chassis number), was fitted and road tested this avo..... all good.
I finally have my car back after 3.5 weeks.....

Yeah me too!! feels completely different now.... at least I know what a failing Mechatronics feels like.

I think you have gotta give props to the dealer/ VWA in the end for a solid result.

Well, new Mechatronics unit installed, VW reflashed ECU with service campaign number 24S4 (solves lean fueling issue with a compensation for crap Aussy fuel), and to top it all off VW rang to confirm they have extended my warranty!! (after a letter to VWA). All good really, it's like having a new car again.
