Sweet a$$ 1198 S Kryten. Is it true the "S" has the race exhaust that legally can't be delivered "on the bike" but Ducati put it in the crate and you fit it yourself or at your first service?
Sexy sexy bit of gear!
The 1098 has a lot of work on the engine too.. Titanium conrods etc etc..
But the 1098R also costs a _fair_ bit more.. $60,000.... Whereas the lowly 1198S costs _only_ $36,000.
That extra $24,000 buys you 10 horsepower (which you can get for $3k on the 1198S), but it revs a lot quicker due to the lighter engine internals.Last edited by kryten2001; 10-10-2009, 09:19 PM.

Dukes like most things expensive and italian are just collectors items that you keep clean and look at and never use. Quite a contrast to anything German actually.
I had so many issues with mine that I decided to sell it and I swear I'll never buy a Duke again.2007 Black Magic VW Golf GT TDi, Latte Leather, Sunroof, Bluefin Superchip, 18" Detroits, APR lower torque arm insert, APR Carbon Fibre Cold Air Intake system, GTi sideskirts & front lip, R32 Rear Bar, GTi Steering wheel, RNS-510,Infinity BassLink Subwoofer, stubby antenna, R8 Oil Cap, Golf R front calipers, slotted front rotors, ceramic brake pads, LITEC LED tail-lights, Dension Gateway Five, Rear Emblem Reverse Camera, H&R Ultralow coil-overs, Badge-less front grille
