Mate, if you're going and searching for 'pirelli' on these forums you should try doing a better search for yourself...

Have you thought about the HPA DSG upgrade Kryten?

I think it allows the box to be more "controllable" plus it revs higher.

I know you said you only changed the suspension but what about an Anti Lift Kit and a Torque Arm Insert? Might help get the power down some more.

        Cheers.

Sopme GTI owners have said quite the opposite.

            It's just a suggestion.

Higher revs before gearchange are only useful if you're using a real peaky engine, like one modified with an upgraded (larger than pirelli) turbo. Peak power/Torque of a modified K04 comes in earlier than redline. If you want the quickest 0-100's, you shift a fair bit before redline..

From what I understand, APR's tune eliminates the restriction of torque through the DSG box, but that's just what I understand.....

In terms of all the other features offered - yeah they're quite nice I guess but not really worth the dough - at least for me....

I'm onto another project now... Buying some trick bits for:

                  Krystan you are insane.

I thought i had good taste with my Jetta TFSI and my R1. You on the other hand just take it 5 steps above with that 1198 and your decked out Pirelli.

That 1198 is my dream bike, think when i get rid of the R1 though I will have to settle for an 848 as that about as far as the budget can stretch.

Good luck with the Duke and keep us updated (even though this is a vw forum)

Just a question on the brakes though, how do they affect abs and ebd if in any way or have you disco those systems
2007 Jetta Fsi-Dsg-and a twist of REVO Stage 1 for added thrills, wifeys ride.

No problems whatsoever. I've had a few pulses on the ABS when I came to a stop under very heavy braking.. Works fine.

The only thing you lose is the 'brake pads running low' message on your dash..

Probably not a light you want to see anyway.. Replacement brembo pads are something stupid.. $700 or something crazy.... Not really looking forward to that day.

                          Great work on the car.

Did you ever get a proper dyno session and what were the results?

What about the 1/4 drag time and 0-100kms? Drags are currently open

No no proper dyno result yet, nor an official 0-100 or quarter mile.

I've got an unofficial 5.9 second 0-100 on dynolicious though, but that was before the High Pressure Fuel Pump, upgrade Intercooler, lightweight wheels or the new tune that's only just gone in last week.

The dyno testing I did didn't turn out too well. The operator wasn't very euro or fwd friendly, and the car was smoking up its wheels on the dyno's rollers.

Strange thing to see though. 220km/h indicated in fifth gear.. Something wasn't right.

Going to try and get it down the track over the next few weeks.

Why not go to the dyno day in the events section?

Sweet a$$ 1198 S Kryten. Is it true the "S" has the race exhaust that legally can't be delivered "on the bike" but Ducati put it in the crate and you fit it yourself or at your first service?
