Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Which dealer(+sales person) did you go to in SEQ?

    Would a 5dr for ~45k be achievable?

Probably, deleting rear parking sensors and RNS510 reduces the drive away price by ca. $3500 anyway, so my price would have come down to $45500. However, I heard from a few dealers that all remaining Pirelli's have Parking sensors. All of them also said that available stocks (i.e. not placed on hold by other dealers) are very low. I don't know whether this is simple sales tactics or the truth.

I bought it from Highway VW at Springwood.

I used to live in Brissie. Prices up there are generally 2-3K cheaper than in Sydney. Years ago, I helped my sister to buy a Civic from Highway Honda in Springwood, had it registered in Tweed Heads and shipped to her in Sydney. Even with the extra $500 shipping on top of the driveaway price she still saved $2K over buying it in Sydney.

I went into a dealer on monday and got offered a 5 Dr Pirelli with parking sensors for $43.2 driveaway. My trade in though wasnt so good so i held off.

Today i went into the dealer i bought my GT from and he could not/would not come close to it. he was bout $6k out, even after showing him the letter of offer from the other dealer to try and beat. Plus he offered $1,000 less for my car as a trade. which is $11k less than he offered me for the same car 5 months ago !!!!

Just shows it pays to shop around.

That is very good deal. Actually the best I have seen so far (other than the one in question earlier in this thread). Personally, I would go for that. May I ask whether that was for a car on the floor or to be ordered in and where?

Im thinking about it, dont know if i will though, $15k to change from a 16 month old GT is a lot of Coin..

I could spend $2k to make the GT faster than a Pirelli

It will still be GT, there are plenty of threads on here about chipping up the GT, maybe not to 169KW for $2k but certainly over 200HP is possible for that.

I am finding it hard to justify $1000 a month depreciation though, so might just hang on for another year and see what Mk6 brings.

My Pirelli with 5 doors,sat-nav and sunroof set me back 29K.They gave me 5K worth of fuel and 7 years free service included in price.............

Guys...........i work for car dealer (not VW) and i know how low they can go.
                      Some prices claimed are redicious.....

I think that this tread is not better then some locked ones (incl.mine)

PS: to guy who started:just go and shop around.......and best of luck.

Uhhh....You can't have a Pirelli with a Sunroof. There was no option for it. Are you sure you don't have a GTI?
