Hey Guys
I have been using AAMi on our family cars for the last 5yrs. So took out the Jetta with them last year and my premium was 660. After i hit a dog i had to have the front end repaired. Excess was my account as they couldnt trace the owners of the dog, even though witnesses said i wasn't at fault. They assured me it wouldnt affect my no claim bonus etc. However whilst the car was being repaired my bottle opener was stolen and AAMI didnt want to know about it. So when this years renewel rocked up not only was it an increase of $110- (up to 770) but i didnt want to use them again due to there attitude over my bottle opener.
So i shopped around again, most seemed to want around 1000 due to me only being 26 and having a turbo petrol, even though im a rating 1 (once upon time if you were over 25 you were ok). In the end my leasing company hooked me up with CGU for 825. Great policy incl new car repacement for another 2yrs, hire car, free windscreen repair and 1 at fault claim a year without affecting my no claim bonus.
Couldnt be happier to ditch AAMI
