So Bwen, this was a demo then? Here I am thinking that Brisbane must move a lot quicker than us!

I'm on my phone so I'll keep the reply short, the car had 18.1km on the odometer and been sitting in the showroom the whole time so I I guess it's demo (close to brand new though!) I don't mind though

18kms is nothing. The dealer probably intended for it to be a demo and you bought it.....demo cut short. More importantly is, is it 08 or 09 compliance? I know they are all build the same time, but may make a difference on sale in future.

It could be 118kms and that's a lot of test drives.

Congrats Bwen, I drive a pirelli last week and it was great. 18km is nothing, it would be further than that to get it home, for me.
I am tempted by the pirelli, 09 compliance would tip me over the edge I reckon.

                    Hey guys,

I'm contemplating on getting a Golf GTI with leather/DSG

Im in Brisbane, and the best quote I have so far is $45,490 driveaway. It's brand new not a demonstrator.

Anyone else in Brisbane/QLD gotten a better figure recently? If so which dealership?

Any help or suggestion in getting a better price?

Hey mate, I bought my Pirelli pretty quickly so I didn't get a chance to negotiate and get the best price on a normal GTI. What quote was with that dealership with?

I wasn't happy with the customer service at Brisbane VW Newstead in my opinion, I asked one of the salesperson there about the best price they could do on a GTI and they said they would call me back, 4 hours later I heard nothing so I moved on and bought my Pirelli from Springwood VW because they had great customer service.

They called me back at the end of they day and said sorry they couldn't get in contact with me earlier because they 'forgot'. Why would you say that? At least say you were busy or something.

Look for Ashley at Springwood VW because he looked after me and he's a very nice guy

Yes I went to VW Newstead to testdrive the GTI, didnt like it there as I made the appointment in advance and still had to wait 30 mins before someone even spoke to me. So very unhappy with the service. And the sales person I spoke to was pretty rude.

What would be a reasonable price to expect for a 5 door GTI Pirelli currently?

I'll give VW Springwood a ring and see how I go.

You may get a good price on either GTI or Pirelli if the dealer has one in stock and you don't mind whatever colour. If they have to order one in, you will pay more but it will be new compliance plated. If you have an ABN, there's also free servicing for 3 years.

I think it was something like ~$47k rrp + ~$5.5k to get it on road. At the moment VW dealerships (in Brisbane anyway) waiver the on road taxes. I'm sure you can haggle it down a bit more, mine was in the showroom and I offered him a price if I could drive it home right away and I guess if you keep pushing they would probably budge

I'm not sure if a 5 door Pirelli is more expensive than a 3 door Pirelli though?
