In VW's case (or most euro cars??) this is a safety step of accidently opening a boot during motion on the road, etc. by just unlocking it then you have to physically get outta the car and press the boot switch at the back to open it.
You can unlock the boot and then open it from the back, probably something that could be done when the boot is being loaded and before the boot is closed.
There is a choice of systems. You can have the low tech solenoid or cable release system used by many car manufacturers or you can have a high tech system with auto locking and unlocking along with the inability to open it accidentally at speed.website: www.my-gti.com

Didn't know about the door unlocking though. Was under the impression that wasn't activated in mine.
Makes sense to lock the boot automatically though.Graphite Blue TDI| DSG | Leather | Bi-Xenons | Custom LED inner tails | Black Forest TAI | OSIR Pod & New South Boost Gauge | Bluefin | Projector Fogs | RNS510 | Skoda Bluetooth | Eibach Pro kit Springs| Full LED interior|US GLI paddle shift MFSW|Carbon Vinyl wrapped trims|Colour Coded Votex Body Kit|

How hard is this, why do you want additional levers when the car has it all built in!!!!!!!
i was just curious. A simple "no" would have done the job tooLast edited by stephen8512; 06-03-2009, 08:39 PM.
