Pretty sure you need to VAGcom it, pressing the boot button on the fob only unlocks it. It doesn't release the actual hatch (unless if you have a Jetta )

Requires Vagcom/VCDS. You have to change one setting.

I prefer to unlock the whole car.

Too easy to lock the keys in otherwise.

If you open the boot only, it re-locks automatically on closing so if the handbag (with the keys) is in there ...

Of this will be no issue for all you blokes with pockets in every outfit!

I drive a 2005 Sportline FSI and by reading this site, I'm gradually starting to discover new things about the car I didn't know about. I guess it pays off to read the user manual. But I'm still confused as to what the middle button on the fob unit is for, the button that has a picture of a car with it's tailgate open? Answers would be great.
It sends a signal to the mother ship.

In precisely 360 gagonomers, the mother ship will tele-transport you to the planet Citroen where you will be imprisoned in a 2CV for the remainder of your natural life as punishment for not reading the manual and bludging at work
I used to be indecisive - now I'm just not sure....

Hang the handbag from your shoulder as it's intended to be worn and you won't have a problem.

I don't feel the urge to take my pants off and stick them in the boot when I'm loading or unloading

Lol I have the same fear - as a guy! I'm always worried that i'll leave my keys in the boot or accidentally drop them and forget to get them out.

Mine's usually got so much weight in it it falls off into the Tardis never to be seen again.

Best to unlock all doors in or I'd have to send a child in thru the back seat.
