Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

You watch yourself there ya young whippa schnapper or I'll belt you with me cane

We have a section of road near home which we travel on when we want to head up north to civilization (where we live is pretty ordinary for shopping variety) This road is quite dangerous in sections and has been the scene of a lot of serious accidents (head - ons), it has a lot of trees shading it from the sides and overhanging thus there a lot of shadows on the road. I always have the lights on when we travel along it even in bright sunny conditions, hopefully by doing so it will make for a safer journey, although there's always some impatient pri*k that overtakes and doesn't give a s#!t about anyone else. It's really not a bad road, the speed limit is 100kmh, the road is reasonably straight but it does have a lot of long corners with which visibility is quite restricted at times although it still has single broken overtaking lines along the majority of it, even in sections where you can't see a bloody thing that's coming the other way !!

For those who know the area on the South Coast NSW I'm referring to Gerroa Road between Seven Mile Beach and Shoalhaven Heads.

    Rant off

Yeah, I know that road too - it goes to the same Bowls Club I belong to...

It's no coincidence that I have a white van and a bright yellow wagon

I chose Candy White personally for 2 main reasons safety as in visibility and much better for paint matching in the unfortunate event of an accident Besides the fact that it looks sooo sexy on a GT Sport, but hey I'm not biased at all

The only trouble with owning a white van is trying to park outside a school or playground without the cops turning up and asking you what you're doing there
By the way where were you on the afternoon of the 13th February this year at approximately 3.00 pm ???

And when they look inside my van and notice the bed in there I'm really in trouble ???? Luckily I do my lurking at dog agility trials, not schools and playgrounds

I thought about getting my van in another colour (it was a factory order), but white is more anonymous if I happen to press on the accelerator a bit too hard, plus it is cooler (temperature wise) and easier to touch up or match if needed.

So the bed is for the spoilt mutts is it ??

Sure that's what they all say

I agree that white is definitely a much cooler colour as well, nothing personal but some people on here have made me laugh when they say how cool their black cars have been in the latest hot weather, I think they must be in colour denial
