If these are the worst complaints we have, we are doing very well indeed.
Yes, the sunglass holder is too small, rattles......most cars have them, I must be lucky, my Jetta at 50,000KM has none, yes the speedo is optimistic......etc. etc. who cares, these are minor issues.
Still the best car I have ever owned and I've had many, even now I still look for an excuse to drive it unlike the s**tbox Toyota loaner I'm driving now.
We should keep things in perspective and focus on the many positives.
Cheers
George
06 Jetta 2.0TFSI Killed by a Lexus!
09 Eos 2.0TSI DSG Loved this car but has now gone to a new home!!
14 EOS 2.0 TSI has arrived!
The positives far out weigh the negatives on my Golf. I dont go looking for things that annoy me.
I will never talk it down, and I have yet to see the perfect car.
By far the best car I have ever owned!!

How rigid do you want the car? It has to have some flex or it will end up in pieced. The MKV is one of the most rigid cars around.
Adjust them to a slower speed using the control.
? This has been well known for at least 18 months that it was coming out towards the end of 2008 or start of 2009. The original plan for the Mark 6 was 2010/2011 but it was brought forward due to the costs in producing the Mark 5.
1. I know.
2. It well may be very rigid (hope I never need to find out), it must just have noisy door seals...
3. Tried both ends of the scale, still inconsistent (I think this issue was noted in other threads).
4. I know (and not really an issue as I'm not selling anytime soon).
Oh, also, the factory tow bar... really quite expensive, and requires GBH to the rear bumper!
Overall, though, these are minor quibbles and I'm very happy with the car.

The sensor can be adjusted (either by the dealer or vagcom) but check that the area in front of the sensor is clear otherwise the dealer can replace it.
Oh, also, the most disappointing thing is the tow bar arrangements... really quite expensive, and requires GBH to the rear bumper!
Most euro cars are similar as they use a CANBUS system so you need a box of tricks to convert the signals. You can get a towbar that goes down below the bumper but the cut for the bumper is pretty small and there is an insert that fills the hole with the towbar is not being used.
oh btw what annoys me most is the stupid sunglass holder. it wouldn't stay shut properly!!!
Funny you mention this, on delivery ours would not shut and the dealer swapped it over from another car - or go to the dealer, tear one out from a demo and BAM - (that was a joke)
Thanks for the link, but I'm already fully up to speed with LSDs. I just wanted to know what type of LSD the Mini had. I've never heard of a fully mechanical diff in a front-driver - viscous, yes, but not a mechanical type.

Can we please start a VAG -COM sticky where you guru's can share some tips? All I seem to be able to do with my Vag com is clear error codes, not that I've really looked into it that much, but it seems pretty complex at first glance. Not too game to start changing settings willy nilly, as on most channels I have no idea exactly what they are!

i guess this question is best asked at a Mini forum. afaik Honda Type Rs have helical LSDs which is a type of torque sensing gear LSD.
