Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Pretty awesome kit there. Also good to see someone doing this kit in Australia. Did you need a specific GIAC software package for the Australian delivered GTIs or is it the same as the US and/or European models?
Also any idea of the power figures you should be able to/hope to get?
      Cheers,

i looking forward to seeing the numbers from this thing, will be nuts, best of luck with it all.

i'll put money on seb not having any issues with any figures it produces, no matter where you put the bloody IT probe.
How is it product pushing when there's more than just the chip involved? If anything, I'd say it's pushing the products from VF Engineering? GIAC is just one part of this kit, it's not like chip magically creates power out of thin air.

GIAC wasn't even mentioned until someone asked what the tune is?

Instead of giving people crap about the chip they are using, how about some positive comments regarding the steps people are taking to create more power and the money they are spending to do so? Rods, pistons, cams don't come cheap.

Edit: Oh and good job going ahead with the RSR kit, I'm quite interested in the RSS kit, but unfortunately don't have the funds atm to do it.

listen closely , take a deep breath, have a read again.....and then . Big Yellow and TRGTI did not take it as a 'dig'.....why? because it wasn't!! it was a little joke from another thread and if you'd bothered to read properly and saw the other thread you'd understand.....

i am genuinely interested in this build, in case you didn't read on.

back on topic, have you guys set yourself a goal powerwise or had any sort of indication what numbers you'll be getting... or just taking it as it comes.

How about we all keep on topic and forget the "product pushing" comments.
This will be an interesting civillised thread if we act like adults.

It will be interesting to see how this goes. Good luck fellas and keep it coming!!!

Are you guys using the giac flashloader, or is a new tune a case of heading back to your dealer?

The standard tunes are usally done with the flashloader, but in Hong's case they are doing lots of data logs which they will send back to GIAC to create a custom tune. He is hoping to run 25 psi with this setup. I believe the current setup is the standard RSS tune.

Wow, now that's serious. I love the dual A2A intercooler idea too by the way. Wouldn't the extra intake volume drop response a little, or is there so much boost this isn't worth worrying about?? Just curious....

                              You must be pushing 400hp...
given the RS/S kit is listed as 385hp @ 20psi

Glad you have the LSD then!
