Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

So I just picked up my GTI Pirelli...

    Ok...one word. DAMM!

I'm pretty sure this is what I looked like at the end of the street.

To go from 169kw to 229kw and from 300nm to 435nm all for the mesely sum of $2k, why would u try and do anything else?

Sure, you could spend another $700 on the intake to get another 5+kw out of it, but that would equate to $140/kw, where as the chip is only $33/kw. I'm not saying don't do it, cause i probably will but if you want some instant no fuss increase that VW can't see, then this is it!

    GO APR!

Thanks Guy...I really am impressed. Glenn was saying that you're thinking that these things are good for about 5.9 0-100.... Is that about right?
Do u have any links to anything that you've done with these thus far?

We have been working on one for two days & we have discovered they have a new version of DSG software!

No matter what we tried to do, we couldn't get it to hold a gear on the dyno, it would downshift on load up & then upshift at 6000rpm every time

Anyway, we are making an extra 30 wkw at 6000rpm, we just have to work out how to get it to play the game until at least 6800rpm!

Hi guys! Have just stumbled on this forum by accident looking for stuff on the pirelli having bought mine 2 weeks ago

We got the yellow in a 3 door. TBH i would not normally buy yellow but we wanted to distinguish it properly from the normal GTI's around and because the missus insists on driving something different to everyone else lol.

Fell in love with it after my first test drive, brilliant car!!

Are you going to invest in the $2k chip as well? Burn other Pirelli's away?

Hmm thats a tough one! TBH i was really impressed with the power it had as standard, other problem is i work in insurance and all to often we get claims for chipped cars that very quickly get denied because of it so I am a little reluctant

I dunno, i reckon if i could afford it i probably would try to get away with it but I am just about to finish building a house so just can't afford anything atm. =P

My car is getting better each day that I drive it...It's starting to loosen up. I actually got to open it up today, where it shifted @ redline between 2nd and 3rd and Damm...the acceleration is very liniea. I'm sure Nayfen can make some sort of comment

                    So Props to APR...again!

                    Next step...maybe a LSD???

Those belt buckles are touching the duco

FFS they should have to take those before they go rubbing themselves against the car

I read on an international forum that if you hold the - paddle shift, it will hold the gear, and if you hold the + paddle shift, it will return to Drive/Automatic.

                              Is this not correct?
