Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Mk5 GT Sport 1.4tsi Lack Power

    Hey all,
Got myself a Golf Mk5 GT Sport 1.4tsi. Engine light is on so ran a scan with VCDS. Codes in system are....
009730 Coolant pump circuit short to ground.
008328 Camshaft A position actuator short to ground.
000052 Turbocharger bypass valve control circuit low.
000581 Solenoid valve for boost pressure (N75) short to ground.
001112 Evap system purge control valve (N80) short to ground.
008201 Intake manifold flap bank 1 short to ground.
001681 Fan 1 control circuit short to ground.

Has a new water pump fitted.
Has a new N75 valve fitted.
Has a new turbocharger bypass valve fitted.

I can clear the codes and the car goes ok for 10-15k's, then the MIL comes back on and looses power. I am getting some boost, but just revs forever on gears with no power.

Any ideas what to look at next?

I'd check some fuses. But can't tell you where. I'd look for a wiring diagram and follow
back to something that is common with all your short to ground items.
