Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I’d blame the bluefin chipping. Something must be wrong with the programming.

        Flash it back, and compare.

If anything, a decent tune should improve economy.

As the others above have suggested, it would be a good idea to flash back to stock and to compare the fuel economy.

Performance tunes should not increase your fuel consumption during idling or standard driving. Our tunes actually improve economy slightly during day to day driving due to the advancing the ignition timing.

If you require any further assistance or advice, please don't hesitate to shoot me a PM or email, cheers.

will do, didn't think of it because they said bluefin chips were static and didn't differ for cars so i didn't think it could've been a software problem. will report back. thanks

how odd, the fuel consumption is back to normal and doesnt feel like im going on a spirited drive down nashos everywhere i go. one of the bigger things i've realized after unflashing is that most of the power is the same? so confused.

if it was running rich then you lose power, so maybe there were some changes but the rich mixture meant you werent getting any of the benefit.
