Believe me, the last thing we would ever want to do is install an untried, untested software in a car.
The same goes for any decent tuning company. Do you really think anyone could afford to put dodgey software into your car.
One bad experience for one customer and the word would sure get around pretty quick to stay away from them and then that would be the end of that company.
All the tunes are tried and tested for performance and reliability whether its a ChippedUK ST3, Bluefin, APR, GIAC, etc, etc.
You just have to weigh up the bang for buck and make your own decision to which brand satisfys you most.
Well all I wanted was an explanation on the numbers. Thanks.
So can the 3 year policy be extended for a higher premium?
No Problem - yes they can, for up to 5 years total, but after the first three it really skyrockets. We have a customer with the BIG hp kit on an RS6 and after the first 3 years we got a quote for the next two years - 950 Euro per year
I have not priced it up for a golf or similar, but it goes on a car by car basis (we have to apply to get the price) -
i'm glad you've finally found the answers you were looking for. now just get the damn chip and let us know what you think. i reckon your worries will be overtaken by excitement once its installed
I just goes to show how honest and reliable Guy and HP tuning are. With all the threads and forums that I have read, which Guy has participated in, he has shown honesty and the willingness to bend backward to help out and give information to anyone that has a vehicle that his business could deal with. I only hope one day that I am fortunate enough to have a vehicle and the dollars for Guy at HP to weave his magic.

Old Skool Passat Power Rules!!!
1974 Passat LS with a SEAT 1.8, 32/36 Weber, full performance exhaust and a K&N filter. 80kw at the wheels??
that graph causes more questions than it answers lol!
I thought torque remains constant after a certain rpm..
the stock torque (320) nm seem to be around the 5000 rpm range..
also cant see what just the software does without headers....
the graph is only an indication - like having a serving suggestion on the cornflakes pack.
take away the header.intake line & reduce the combined line by that amount & your somewhere near the money.
Torque isn't a constant AFAIK - unless it is artificially limited??
carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
