here you go; instructions from the workshop manual. i've never seen that many "STOP" signs in a workshop manual article before. if you break the box and have to pay 25k for a new one, promise you'll come back and tell us.

all i can hope to see is an epic fail of someone who doesnt take professinal advice from people who actually are in the trade. Its laughable

modern materials, technology and oil standards have changed and improved so much that i'd prob only fill it when VW told me too aswell, theres just no need its not like your doing track days everyday.

obviously you dont trust VW's engineers and research and developement!

My last word on the subject

I think the following quote from another thread sums up your entire argument:-

Now im thinking of getting a pod filter.... decisions...

Does anyone know of any other dry performance filters other than Apexi?

Unfortunately I think i was the first MkV GTI to get the DSG service in the country. I had to convince VW that it needed servicing and i think i still have my fingers crossed now hoping they did a good job :p

I couldnt get a straight answer out of anyone, had all the possible options suggested, 30k, 60k, 90k, life time....doesn't give you much confidence.

Get it done by someone who knows what they are doing (In Sydney Seb or Derek) and get it done at the latest 60k i reckon.

just make sure you do it!

Thats because u cannot measure the exact amount of oil needed to be applied to the filter. I do not want aNY oil on my MAF, no matter how small, Id even leave the NEW filter in the sun for a few hours before putting it in the car JUST to be safe.

Id still replace it though halfway through the reccomended time to clean them

With changing the DSG oil, at least you know exactly what to do, and by exactly I mean accurate measurements.

Anyway enough with this, Ill post a DIY for those who are interested.

Remember, these levels will change with the addition of extra metal particles... At least the magnet in the bottom of the transmission will attract them to one spot...

Y'know ... I feel like closing this thread because it just keeps heading up blind alleys. But then again ... some of the statements I've read on here are some of the funniest stuff I've read anywhere on this forum.

No one is stopping him, Mischa. He can surely do what he wants ... except become abusive on here. Any further abuse and I'll delete the posts and censure.

But if he wishes to discuss his behaviour ... he can do it thru PM ... not in open forum.
