First up the TDI. Notice the common stock inlet just in front of the filter housing ( bucket trial in second pic ). Yellow line is the end of the inlet, start of turbo.


Next the TSI shot from above, seems the TSI has no MAF, thus restrictive grid? Stock airbox is the same as the TDI in that is has a nasty 90 degree bend out of the lid. Yellow line is where the pipe down to the supercharger starts, and thus a inlet would end for the average joe. Note same headlight inlet position and piece. The stock TSI "box" is identical to the stock TDI, differs in the inlet from the headlight to the "box" only.


Finally the mighty GTI. Same deal, but with much more linear, and performance orientated filter further along the inlet before the bend I believe. Turbo inlet is pretty much below yellow dot. Wonder if they still have the restrictive grid.
